ADAM SAFER

Director of Economic Development Policy

Adam Safer is the Director of Economic Development Policy at Carolina Small Business Development Fund. In this role, he advances learning regarding CDFIs and small businesses, both within CSBDF and throughout the CDFI industry. Externally, Adam authors publications on small business ecosystems and CDFI impact measurement, while internally he evaluates CSBDF’s programs and identifies learning opportunities for CSBDF’s operations.

 

At CSBDF, Adam serves as a resource for all things data-related, leading the organization's client data integrity initiative and reporting on CSBDF’s impacts for development and compliance purposes. He also supports CSBDF’s leadership with data-driven recommendations on organizational strategy and public policy advocacy. Adam holds PhD and MA degrees in Sociology from Stony Brook University and a BA degree in Education Studies from the New School University. He has worked for nonprofit organizations as a researcher, educator, marketing professional, and administrator. Originally from Philadelphia, Adam enjoys hiking and spending time with his family.
